In France, electricity demand changes throughout the day. Off-peak hours, when electricity is cheaper, usually fall between 12 PM–5 PM and 8 PM–8 AM; these times are set by ENEDIS and vary by municipality. They apply only to electricity, not gas. Peak hours, when electricity costs more, typically occur between 8 AM–12 PM and 5 PM–8 PM.
The Regulated Electricity Sales Tariff ("Blue Tariff") is set by the government and updated twice a year. It is only available from EDF.
