The amount shown on your bill is made up of the standing charge and the cost of the electricity consumed in kWh.
The standing charge and price per kWh will depend mainly on:
- the amount of power you need for your home, which depends on the number and consumption characteristics of your appliances, the type of heating you use, the type of energy you use for water heating, etc.
- the type of metering: single or peak / off-peak hours.
The ENGIE electricity market package gives you a price per kWh that is guaranteed not to rise (2)
The regulated tariff marketed by EDF changes every year by ministerial decree. But the cost of ENGIE fixed-price, revisable downwards (2) can only decrease according to the regulated tariff. At the end of the period, your contract is renewed for the same period as before. You are notified of the new price 1 month before the end of your contract.

ENGIE provides you with a simulator that allows you to calculate the electricity consumption of your home. You can then estimate your likely electricity consumption and choose the ENGIE package best suited to your needs and budget.
All you need to do is enter:
- the length of fixed-price electricity package you want
- the town/city and zip code for your home
- the floor area of your home
- the date your home was constructed
- the number of occupants
- the use you make of electricity in your home (heating, cooking, hot water, etc.)
- whether you use the peak / off-peak hours system
The simulator will use this data to estimate the price of your annual standing charge and the price per kWh for the alternative ENGIE fixed-price, revisable downwards electricity packages.
